Go Hiking

Hiking is an excellent way to be physically active, and at the same time, you get to see the beautiful nature that surrounds you.  It is an activity that will not only improve your health but also you can have people to accompany you and chat with.

Hiking is one of the easiest ways, not only you can see scenarios you like, but also you get to exercise a bit or more as you like.  You can control where you want to go and how much you want to do it. It is also a lot of fun.

These are physical benefits of hiking per the National Park Service: Building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems.  On top of these, it can certainly help you stay fit.

Take a Walk

If you don’t feel like taking exercise, walking is a great alternative that almost everybody can do.

The advantage of walking is that you can easier adjust your pace that you feel comfortable.  If you’re just getting started, walking too fast for a long time can give you fatigue, soreness, and get you frustrated.  Instead, start it by having the walks ten to fifteen minutes per day at a comfortable pace.

After you get used to it, you can increase your walking time by ten to fifteen minutes each week until you reach one hour per day or a different length of time that suits you.

In addition to walking time, it’s good to have some modifications to make it more and efficient. Here are a few tips.

Dance

Dancing is not only fun, but it can also burn lots of calories and improve your mood.  Just a session of dancing every day can make you feel and get fit too.

Dancing is a form of aerobic, which implies that it is vigorous enough to raise your heart rate. Doing it on a regular basis can help you not only burn fat but also re-shape your body to look fit.

According to professional dancers, various forms and dances, such as ballet, salsa, and ballroom dancing can burn hundreds of calories an hour. Slower forms of dancing such as the waltz burn less, but still burns more than a couple of hundreds of calories an hour.

No matter what type of dance you do, it offers an easy and enjoyable way to burn off extra calories. A half-hour of dancing can easily burn anywhere between 200 and 400 calories.  Isn’t it much more fun to dance than running on boring treadmills to get fit?

Listen to Music While Doing the Above Activities

Music makes every workout more fun, particularly when it comes to cardio sessions. In order to lose weight quicker, it is recommended that you listen to music while working out. It will make it more fun and motivate you to keep going!

Take a Nap

Not enough sleep can be a direct cause of junk food cravings, according to a study from UC Berkley. When you skimp on shuteye, the lack of sleep impairs activity in the brain functions, which reduces your ability to make complex decisions.  At the same time, it increases activities in the reward center of the brain to get you to reach for high sugar foods than vegetables and fruit.

When you’re tired, you tend to become hungry because your body needs energy.  On the other hand, when you are sleeping your body reduces the level of the hunger hormone.

A study in the journal PLoS Medicine showed a strong correlation between short sleep duration with high levels of the hunger-inducing hormone, low levels of satisfaction-inducing leptin, and higher rates of obesity.  Therefore, take a nap when you are tired, it helps you to stay fit.

Eat Superfoods

The term of superfoods refers to those foods including lean proteins, healthy carbohydrates, and fats that are essential to our health.  When we are healthy, it is easier to be fit.

Superfoods are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in comparison to the number of calories that they contain.  It plays an essential role in achieving and maintaining a healthy body.

Nutritionists may vary in their lists of which foods are superfoods but there is a general consensus of what are superfoods.  For the purpose of being fit, these foods are considered good for both health and fitness:

Drink Plenty Water throughout the Day

Research suggests that drinking water can help burn calories.

In a 2014 study, 12 people who drank 500 ml of room temperature water had an increase in calories expenditure.  They burned between 2 and 3 percent more calories than usual in the 90 minutes after drinking the water.

Our body needs water to properly metabolize stored fat or carbohydrates. The first step of the process of metabolizing fat is called hydrolysis, which occurs when water molecules interact with triglycerides (fats) to create glycerol and fatty acids.  So sufficient water matters in this process.

Water can also temporarily elevate the body’s energy expenditure to burn more calories while you are resting.  Drinking cold water may burn more calories because our body uses energy to heat the water for digestion.

Drinking enough water is essential for burning off fat from food and drink, as well as stored fat.

Studies show that that increased water intake led to increased lipolysis and a loss of fat.

Choose To Be More Active on Your Daily Activities

If you don’t want to intentionally do exercises, it is good that you stay more active during the daytime. Try to take the stairs instead of the elevator, and walk whenever you can instead of driving.  Adding the minor things together can definitely help you reach your goal to stay fit.

In Conclusion

People do intensive workouts to stay fit.  Yes, it works, but it is not for everyone, and there are other ways too.

As you can see in the above discussions, the key point is consistency in your daily life.  It is your willingness to adopt those small steps to make gradual changes in your habits.

Be consistent and you will reach your goal of staying fit!
