You may not be aware of it, but you show your hands a lot every day.  You shake hands with people.  You hand-write things, or you type on computers.  And then, when you eat, your hands are most likely on the table.

We pay a lot of attention to our facial skin, and we concern a lot to have healthy and long hair.  But, people look at your hands too, and your hands are as obvious as your face.  It is good to have beautiful hands.

How can we take care of our hands then?  As we realize how important is to give due care and attention to our hands, we should follow the ways to maintain and keep our hands look healthy and beautiful. 

We use our hands to do most of the jobs.  But we don’t give our hands the right respect to take care of them.   There is a saying that an good way to estimate a people’s age is to look at his or her hands.  You may have a done a great job to have beautiful and young facial skin, but your hands, if not well taken care of, can impair your efforts.

There are several tips that you can do to enhance the beauty of your hands.  If you do these things, your hands are much more likely to look beautiful and help you look younger.  We list the tips below that will help you make your hands look beautiful!

Clean Your Hands

As you touch people or anything during the day, germs start to accumulate germs on your hands.  Excessive germs on your hands may cause faster aging of your hands.  Although it's impossible to keep your hands germ-free, cleaning your hands frequently can reduce the harm from germs and viruses.

Don’t use antibacterial soap

Antibacterial soaps do not do better in killing germs than regular soap. On the contrary, it may even lead to the development of bacteria that are resistant to the product's antimicrobial target, which makes it harder to kill these kinds of germs in the future.

Wash your hands the right way

Wash your hands with soap and water in the following procedure: First wet your hands with running water, warm or cold, then apply bar or liquid soap to a hand. Then vigorously rub your hands for at least 20 seconds. 

Remember to scrub all parts, including the back of your hands, wrists, fingers and under your fingernails.  After thoroughly scrub, rinse your hands well, dry your hands with a clean towel. 

Last but not least, use the towel to turn off the faucet.  You don’t want to get the germs on the faucet back on your hands.

Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer

Alcohol-based hand sanitizer is an acceptable alternative when soap and water aren't available. But if you use a hand sanitizer, make sure that it has at least sixty percent of alcohol in the product.  First, apply enough sanitizer to the palm of your hands to wet your hands completely, then rub your hands together, covering all surfaces, until your hands are dry.

Exfoliate Your Hands

Our hands tend to lose its moisture in cold air, they can easily dry out and crack. It is important to apply a good exfoliation regime to move away dry and dead skin to keep your hands in good share. 


The skin on the back of the hands is thin and fragile. You should exfoliate your hands every once a while.  Dead skin on your hands can’t properly absorb creams or lotions you apply, it becomes a vicious cycle where your skin can’t get the moisture it needs to repair itself.  Exfoliation helps remove dead cells from hands and make them in a good condition to absorb moisturizers and creams.


One easy way to do is to add 1 to 2 tablespoon of sugar in olive oil, mix the two together, and then rub the mixture on your hands gently.  After that, use Shea hand scrub for one minute. It makes your hands instantly smooth and soft.


Moisturize Your Hands

Moisturization is essential for beautiful hands. It keeps your hands stay hydrated and so are less prone to water loss.  You should apply hand cream or lotion on your hands to keep them moisturized as much as possible.  That you can keep your hands out of dryness and patchy skin to make your hands look beautiful.

Depending on the type of skin you have and the weather, you may want to moisturize your hands anywhere a few times a day. Several light applications are better than one heavier application. 

Depending on your skin type, you may not need to moisturize your face or other areas as much. Your moisturizing routine should vary depending on the time of year and your environment. 

Because skin tends to be drier in the winter, as also in the air of indoor environments, you'll probably want to moisturize more frequently at those times of a year. 


The best way to moisturize your skin is to apply a good moisturizing cream or lotion on your hands. The best hand moisturizer that we would suggest you use brands like Olay, Nivea, La Prairie and Clinique.  After the application of moisturizing cream,  massage your hands for a few seconds.


Nail Care

Your fingernails are composed of keratin, which are laminated layers of protein.  It grows from the area at the base of the nail. 

Healthy fingernails have smooth appearances. They're uniform in color and free of spots or discoloration. Fingernails can develop white lines or spots due to injury, but these will grow out with the nail eventually.

Great looking fingernails are a indispensable part for your hands to look beautiful. Do not bite your nails, instead have them well trimmed every week and keep them in good hygiene.

Having said all the steps above to take care of your hands, maintain certain good habits can greatly help you have beautiful hands.  These habits include:  Wear gloves when doing house chores, avoid using harsh chemicals with your hands, wash your hands more often with right soaps, and pamper your hands with great care and attention.
